Dr. Jason Altman
Board Certified Plastic Surgeon · Miami Plastic Surgery, Kendall
An engineer who became a surgeon.
Dr. Jason Altman was born and raised in New York City. He attended Dartmouth College, where he graduated at the top of his class with a degree in Engineering, a foundation that still shapes how he approaches surgery: structural, precise, fundamentally three-dimensional.
From Dartmouth, he moved to medical school at SUNY Stony Brook, where he again graduated at the top of his class. His residency in Otolaryngology / Head and Neck Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, where he served as Chief Resident, gave him a deep working knowledge of facial anatomy that few plastic surgeons share.
He then completed a second residency at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, again as Chief Resident, before being honored as a Jerome P. Webster Fellow with Interplast, an annual honor awarded to a single plastic surgeon nationwide. As a fellow, he spent the year traveling and operating on children in developing countries, while training local surgeons.
Practice and philosophy.
Dr. Altman's professional interests include all aspects of cosmetic and aesthetic plastic surgery, with a primary focus on surgery of the breast and body: augmentation, lifting, liposuction, and abdominoplasty. He also has a strong interest in revision and reconstructive work, helping patients who are unhappy with prior results achieve the look they originally wanted.
Given his dual training, he performs a significant volume of rhinoplasty, both functional and cosmetic, addressing the appearance of the nose and how well it works.
